With the opening of the Hackney Picture House on Mare street in east London, Little White Lies have produced a series of inspirational  portraits of their silver screen heros. The perfect blue and the perfect red captures the cinematic tale of Bill Murray as Steve Zissou.

BAGGU: Bags

I really like these simple canvas bags, made to a great quality that are multi-functional. They come in a range of colours and are really well priced at $20-$40 USD. I really like the mustard DUCK tote.

GRIND: Berlusconi T-shirt

Grind London continue their tongue-in-cheek politically motivated t-shirts. Following on from their Thatcher release is the Silvio Berlusconi t-shirt entitled Cosa Nostra, for you that don't know this commonly translates in to mafia. Very apt indeed, if you have the time check out their other print t-shirts.

PAPA JOHNS: Kate & Will Pizza

The long weekend is upon us in a few days and not too long after that there is another long weekend thanks to the royal wedding. Hell, its so close you can taste it....literally... If you have ever had the (dis)pleasure of sampling a Papa John's pizza you will well know that it is far from fine dining. Now it will not only be tasteless but also unsavoury,  available in Britain only for £500!

RECORD STORE DAY: Saturday 16th April

Its the  annual Record Store Day tomorrow, the celebration of independent record stores has grown in stature since its origins in 2007. There is a huge amount of special vinyl editions being issued by record labels to mark the event in 2011 with more and more record shops participating. If you're in London I'll be heading down to Rough Trade East or The Vinyl Factory to try and pick up the Joy Division / New Order 12" for Ceremony / In A Lonely Place. Below are a list of other release I think are worth keeping an eye out for or check the link for full list.

USB: Mixtape

The clever people of SUCK have created a solution to all of your modern day mixtape problems. Rather than sending it by dropbox only to have the order of the mix completely shuffled or burning it on to a boring CD, a mixTAPE has something sentimental about it. I like making them and people like receiving them in tape format. Make a mixtape its fun (again). Six different styles to choose from.

NIKE X COLETTE: The Take Away Project

The French Football away kit was released by Nike just a few weeks ago, with that Colette have released a collaboration to further promote the new kit. Good news for me, there are more blue and white stripes than you can poke a stick at! More from the series below:

JACK KEROUAC: Luggage Tags

Penguin books have been branching out to mugs and bags and what not, now they have also included luggage tags. Nice simple, classic Penguin design - On The Road by Jack Kerouac was a book given to me when I was 18 and about to travel probably one of the best presents ever.

DITTO: Iphone App

Basically, it's better than foursquare and facebook locations because you can actually plan things for the future and where to meet friends rather than just finding out where they are. The point of the app is to know what you’re friends are up to and you can organise a quick drink or dinner in the nearest place. It could also be used to round up the common recommendations given by your friends based on their experiences to the place that you’re planning to visit. Download it now.
