MOVIES: THE TREE OF LIFE

Every man is faced with the predicament of having to watch a rom com, for some the obstacle is admitting that they actually like watching Julia Roberts & Richard Gere play out their mind numbing escort love story. For others the obstacle faced is telling their loved one that they are incapable of  paying money to see Sarah Jessica -Parker and the other virgina monologues narrate the modern day perils of being a woman in the 21st Century. Thankfully one kind friend has offered to take my girlfriend to see one such movie, Bridesmaids, which leaves me time to watch something a little more interesting - The Tree Of Life.

EAST END FILM FESTIVAL: April 27th - 2nd May

The East End Film Festival is on next week and will be competing for attention with those holding street parties for the Royal Wedding. If you manage to break yourself away from  watching the TV or sitting outside in the glorious sun why not lock yourself in another East End dark room and watch some films! THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER SOLD: Trailer

Once again Morgan Spurlock has taken a seemingly obvious  problem and translated in to a rather interesting personal challenge. Spurlock proceeds to make a documentary about product placement and advertising in modern culture, while funding the film through......selling advertising. View the trailer above and if you have a spare 20 minutes Spurlock has done a talk on TED "I've put myself in some horrible situations over the years, but nothing could prepare me ... for anything as difficult or as dangerous as going into the rooms with (advertising agencies)" 

BOWIE: The Man Who Fell To Earth

What better way to spend Sundy afternoon than with David Bowie, after watching the trailer (below) I'm still not decided whether things looks good or bad, either way it looks like the drugs had a bit of an effect on Bowie. Hell, even the trailer says "Nothing you have seen or heard of David Bowie will prepare you for the dramatic performance of David Bowie". Its is playing this Sunday and next weekend at the BFI, details below.

NO AGE Presents: The Bear

NO AGE  are touring and in a one-off special show will be scoring the Jean-Jacques Annaud's classic nature film The Bear from 1988.
